Lab Tests Online Launched in Australia
August 21, 2007--Lab Tests Online-Australia was launched earlier this month by the site’s producer, the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB), and the federal health minister, Tony Abbott.  The Australian version is derived from both the US and UK sites, and includes fresh information written specifically to reflect Australian policies and practice.

The site is the fourth version of Lab Tests Online to launch this year and sixth overall to go live.  Like its sister sites, Lab Tests Online-AU is commercial-free and subscribes to the Health-On-the-Net Foundation’s code of conduct for health information sites.  The HONcode, as it is called, is comprised of eight principles that address such matters as author qualifications, support for the doctor-patient relationship, and proper attribution of information.

The Australian press gave the launch good coverage, including a TV segment showcasing the site and the AACB team.  You can access the video at Macquarie National News.
